I have been to Annecy more times than I can recall but I’m always happy to go back. It’s a lovely picturesque town with canals and a lake. And far too many visitors but that’s understandable.

Today was one of the days when I appreciated how lucky I am to just be able to pop somewhere like than for lunch and a wander.

It was unseasonably warm, apparently 14 degrees Celsius, and lovely and sunny. I have adapted well to winter after getting back from Australia but was nice to be out and about in the sunshine again.

I had a lovely lunch at L’Authentic with a view over the canal and then it was time for a post-prandial promenade. There were a lot of people around the lake and, if it wasn’t for the fact that practically everyone except me was wearing a heavy winter coat, you wouldn’t have known it was January. I’m just hoping that I’m not going to regret not wearing sunscreen.
