Yesterday I was lying by the pool in Thailand, sipping fresh watermelon juice and alternating between luxuriating in the heat and escaping into the refreshing coolness of the water.
Today I had lunch at my mum’s favorite Italian restaurant and wandered around the (occasionally) sunny streets of Geneva running mundane errands.
Very different experiences but each a little slice of perfection.
It is now six months since I gave up my job to a carve a new path for my life. I may not be living the dream but I am most definitely living mine.
My plans for the next few weeks will see me retracing footsteps that I previously trod with my mum. I will be revisiting places that we loved: Bristol, Brussels, Bruges and Ghent.
I didn’t really plan things this way, it’s just how they worked out. It means things may get emotional but I’m really looking forward to a period of solo travel. And making new memories to complement the old ones I made with my favorite travel companion.
