I first posted my to-do list in 2016. It has 70 items on it and, in the last four years, I have managed to complete a few of them so I figured that would be a good place to start my pandemic travel blogging.
Two of them have, unfortunately, just slipped through my fingers: traveling on the Rocky Mountaineer and going on an Alaskan cruise. And some of them I have already written about like snowboarding in Whistler.
But there are also some I’d mostly forgotten about and the list serves as a reminder of the wonderful things I’ve done and the places I’ve seen.
One thing on the list was to learn yoga. And I specified the possibility of Bali or India but I actually still haven’t been to either. In fact, I did yoga for the first time on a hen weekend. In the UK. So not exactly as planned but it was outdoors and at least I had good company. And not too much of a hangover considering I finished the bride’s shots.
I followed that up with some more intensive classes in New Mexico. And the habit has stuck. I have a travel yoga mat that comes with me when possible. And during the current stay-at-home situation, I have been able to practice yoga regularly. With the added bonus that it helps me sleep better.
So I think we can tick that one off my to-do list.
