The Covid-19 pandemic has changed the world for everyone and, on a personal level, I don’t think I have ever spent so much time in one place. Surprisingly, I’m not missing travel – it really doesn’t seem important in the grand scheme of things. Although I would love to be able to visit my family (both given and chosen).
Several people have asked whether I will have time to start blogging again during lockdown. I’m lucky that I am able to work from home, which keeps me busy. And somehow, even though I rarely leave the house, I don’t seem to have much spare time. But I’ll give it a go.
In the first two months of 2020, before confinement began, I visited five countries but mostly visiting friends so I don’t have a lot of recent material to work with. However, I will start delving into my personal travel archives to see what I can find. (I’ve been rereading some of my old blog posts in preparation and it is nice being reminded of things that I’d completely forgotten about…)
Be reassured though, I am not traveling now and won’t be for the foreseeable future – six trips canceled to date, nothing scheduled for the next four months. Life looks very different right now.
