I started wading through my photos to find some inspiration for travel blogging but, based on the percentage of photos I have of the meals I have eaten, it may turn into more of a food blogging exercise.
I found one photo of a delicious looking dessert which I do remember enjoying but could not recall where I’d ordered it. (This is why I’m meant to blog – if I don’t write it down, I don’t remember!)
All the information I had was the date and time that I took the picture. Checked my calendar and I got the city but nothing more. Next stop was my expense tracker but there was no entry for dinner that night – did someone else pay?
I had to look at the bigger picture. It was my last night before leaving the country, maybe it was a farewell dinner. So I contacted a friend who apparently keeps a more accurate calendar than me and, at last, I had the name of the restaurant and my dinner companions.
Long story short, I spent a lot of time investigating and not much time blogging. But I did find a restaurant I need to go back to, at some point in the future, when I am allowed to eat food that has been made by someone else, while I am in the company of other people. It sounds like some kind of utopian future.
The dessert itself was very simple and very delicious. And here it is (not a great picture – I blame restaurant lighting ;-)):
