May/June 2017
Final budget post for Croatia! I properly did the tourist thing in Zagreb but buying the Zagreb card meant that it wasn’t too painful.
Accommodation
Airbnb apartment (4 nights) – a short tram ride from the city center
Total: €149
Average = €37.25/night
Food and drink
There was a lot of (very good) food and drink.
Restaurants: 642 kn (€87) – two breakfasts, five lunches, four dinners
Groceries: 58 kn (€8)
Coffee: 59 kn (€8)
Total: 759 kn (€103)
Average: €25.75/day
Transport
Bus Zadar-Zagreb: 115 kn (€16)
Tram: 4 kn (€1)
(After the first day all public transport was covered by the Zagreb card.)
Total: 119 kn (€17)
Other
Zagreb Card (72h): 135 kn (€19)
Toilet fees: 4 kn (€1)
Umbrella (expensive but essential!): 141 kn (€19)
Clothing: 40 kn (€6)
Total: 320 kn (€45)
What I spent
Total: €314
Average = €78.50/day
That means that my daily average across my stay in Croatia was about €94 per day – slightly elevated because of the cost of staying in Dubrovnik and also taking a 7-day Island Cruise.
