When I mentioned to people that I was going to Belgium, and specifically Brussels, I got a mixture of responses.
Some people paused, inhaled deeply and then queried my decision. To be honest, there wasn’t actually much of a decision involved. This trip had been planned for a while, certainly before the attacks, and it had to be now so that I can see FEATS 2016.
Other people reacted with enthusiasm and were quick to share their tips – always helpful. I strongly encourage this type of behavior!
In any case, it has been said that I never listen to what anyone else says anyway so here I am in Brussels. The sun is shining, the beer is cold and everything is well with the world. There are some signs around the city of what happened and not everything has reopened yet. Regardless it is the same city that I loved seven years ago and I’m very happy to be here again.
